Scholarship Awarded

 

On January 20th of 2008 the Mid America Alpaca Foundation Board announced a one thousand dollar "Scholarship" to be given to each of the following: Kansas State, University of Missouri and Oklahoma State. These awards or grants will be used by veterinary students to defray cost to attend Camelid related conferences and externships. This program comes with advice and input of the Foundation's advisory board. To quote one advisor, "This will have a fantastic effect on vet students and, in turn, the alpaca industry". The program is working now.

The advisory board of the Foundation has been providing consultation on developing scholarships for third and fourth year vet students who show interest in Camelid medicine.

There will be a overview article in Alpacas Magazine, Spring edition featuring the "Alpacas On Campus" program.
