Alpacas Are on Campus

Alpacas arrived on Thursday, April 26, 2007. The first of the teaching herd consisted of six adult Huacaya females and one female cria all donated by Knoblock's Prairie Ranch of Sabetha, Kansas. (Pictured left to right are Meredith Jones DVM, MS, Assistant Professor KSU; David E. Anderson DVM, MS , DACVS, Professor of Agricultural Practices KSU; Steve, Tasha, and Rose Ann Knoblock.

Also arrived but not pictured were two Suri males donated by Wilkins Livestock LLC of Geneva, NE by Mike and Janet Wilkins.

The Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine, Mid America Alpaca Foundation and, most importantly, the KSU Vet students appreciate this generous donation and look forward to utilizing "Alpacas on Campus" to better educate current and future students and practitioners.
